Good morning Europe, buongiorno , god morgon!

I'm writing today to tell you a bit about our project.
The idea is to build a " bridge" from Öckerö to Lipari and vice versa. On the map of Europe you can clearly see the distance between the islands. In our world of technology, with the internet, they become neighbours and it is possible for us to make friends almost as easily as if we were sitting in the same classroom or visiting each other's homes.
The project is a two-year event, but hopefully you kids will be keeping in touch long after it's finished and totally on your own. You have already written to each other, letters that we will save, and of which some can be seen on the banner of this blog.

Together we will learn, not only what life is like on the two islands, but also about ourselves and of course a lot about Sweden, Italy and Europe. New experiences and acquaintances will teach us, and lessons, assignments and a variety of activities will be the tools.
My intention is to keep you all posted on this site and blog. Remember that all your comments and entries are more than welcome; Parents, feel free to comment, it is appreciated. This should be a living project in every aspect.
Our language of communication has to be English, but we will all learn some Italian and Swedish, too. As soon as we have created work-groups you'll be able to chat with " your" assigned friends.
That's all for now but let me finish by saying
WELCOME, BENVENUTI, VÄLKOMNA!
And Good luck, In bocca al lupo, Lycka till !                 Pia
